Symphorien Ongolo is a political scientist and Researcher at the French national institute for sustainable development (IRD – France), Paul-Valéry University of Montpellier in France. He is a former Alexander von Humboldt research fellow at the University of Göttingen in Germany. Prior to these positions, he got his PhD degree in political science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich, Switzerland. Beyond his works on global environmental politics, his main research interests include African politics, forest policy and natural resources governance in Africa.
